Cross-country skiing on the Hochficht
Cross-country skiing during your vacation on the Hochficht? Yes, you can - on the nine-kilometer-long, moderately difficult panoramic trail. The start and end point is the village square in Klaffer. From there, it takes you 1.5 hours through picturesque landscapes. Magnificent views are included! The Šumava Nordic Center offers a total of around 150 kilometers of trails throughout the entire vacation region. In addition to 78 kilometers of high-altitude trails, there are also around 70 kilometers of trails in the valley in good snow conditions. Whether classic or skating, for beginners or sporty cross-country skiers: there is a suitable trail for everyone in the border triangle of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic!
By the way: The region is one of the three cross-country skiing areas in Upper Austria with the best snow conditions. The snowiest month is February.
